Since I was little, I’ve been writing and telling stories. I love how stories can shape our lives, and characters can become like friends to us.
As a writer and an educator, I believe that books and words are powerful. Our early experiences with picture books become a part of our childhoods. Growing up, our picture book friends take us on adventures, help us learn how to read, and give us a love of books that can last a lifetime.
Now as a parent, I treasure the time spent reading to my children while they’re snuggled in my lap. Lines from picture books have become a quotable part of our day as a family. Having a picture book of my own, out in the world for others to enjoy, is most definitely a dream come true.
